SPTechCon Developer Days Wrap Up

In case you missed it, last week was the first SPTechCon Developer Days conference. The event was specifically for the development community surrounding Office 365 & SharePoint. This was a small, niche conference held just south of San Francisco and gave attendees the opportunity to “mingle” with some great SharePoint speakers during the event and at lunches.

The first day of the event opened with a keynote from Chris Johnson, Group Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft, speaking in regards to the change in mindset about programming for Office 365 vs. on-premises SharePoint. The events continued with a one day Office 365 developer event sponsored by Microsoft as well as multiple breakout sessions held by several well-known community speakers. Some of the first day sessions included JavaScript sessions from Marc D. Anderson, Responsive Web Design with Eric Overfeld and many others.

The second day included some sessions from Jeremy Thake, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft, on Office 365 Add-ins and a great session from Sean McDonough on cache in SharePoint. The day wrapped up with a networking dinner around the pool of the Hyatt.

The final day started off with JQuery & SharePoint tips from Mark Rackley. It then broke off into smaller breakouts including a couple of great sessions from MVP Tim Ferro on Visual Studio ALM & SharePoint event receivers.

If you get the chance, check out the next event in Boston August 24th -27th, 2015 where many popular speakers will be presenting including the SharePoint Community’s very own Vlad Catrinescu. You can also use the discount code CATRINESCU for a $200 discount since Vlad will be speaking at the conference. Just visit http://ift.tt/eGN2Ue, there you will find the registration page and a field to enter the code as you fill out your registration information.

Hope to see you there!
